Two premier attractions are almost on the doorstep: Llechwedd slate caverns, where visitors can explore spectacular underground chambers, and the famous Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway for scenic journeys to the pretty little harbour town of Porthmadog. For the more adventurous, the surrounding Snowdonia National Park offers exilarating outdoor pursuits, whilst fine sandy beaches, championship golf and historic castle are all in easy reach.
